Abodo and WPMA Release Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for New Zealand Radiata Pine

This week a select group of Wood Processors and Manufacturers Association (WPMA) members along with Abodo released the first full Environmental Product Declaration for NZ Radiata Pine.

The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) covers solid and engineered Pinus Radiata including preservative treated products.

We all benefit when a product’s claim of environmental sustainability can be validated against standardised and transparent criteria.

An EPD is a great validation tool that offers a standard approach to the assessment of the environmental impact of a product. It provides designers and specifiers with an effective framework to make direct product comparisons.

NZ Radiata Pine has fantastic environmental credentials, specifically the carbon it stores when maintained as a solid wood product.
