Cloud references, bright nautical colours and the warmth of Vulcan timber create a truly unique apartment-style holiday home.
This apartment-style holiday house allows four generations of the same family to enjoy a holiday together, or alternatively it allows family to enjoy parts of the house separately while on holiday at the same time.
Masterfully designed by Neil Cownie Architect, Cloud House is intended to provide a sense of fun and theatre in a departure from everyday suburban living.
The building draws upon its location through the use of nautical navigational colours of red, blue and green in the external roller blinds, and the red clouds of the setting sun are reflected in the hovering red freeform concrete ‘cloud’ over the top of the building.
Abodo’s Vulcan timber cladding in Protector - Graphite provides a natural contrast with the red, blue and green - flowing from the exterior through to interior walls.
The cloud referencing continues through to the interior of the building where curvaceous ceilings roll through like the underside of a cloud.
The nautical colour of the exterior finds its way internally to door panels, ladders, and cabinetwork highlights.
Internal living spaces connect to the exterior as though they are a
balcony, where the family can enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunset views
out over the marina.
