Project Revisit: Lake Waikaremoana Visitor Centre

How well has our Vulcan Cladding, Sand Decking and Vulcan Joinery performed in this award-winning project? We take a look four years on.

After close to four years’ full exposure to New Zealand’s harsh ultraviolet rays, our Vulcan Cladding is still 100% black and beautiful.

The charred finish creates a thick sacrificial carbon layer on the face of the timber, ensuring the black finish will last for years to come.

Other Abodo decking and timber joinery elements used on the project have weathered “as expected” blending in to the gorgeous surroundings perfectly. Set in scenic Te Urewera, the Waikaremoana Visitor Centre is nestled along site Lake Waikaremoana, a popular hiking destination.
