Sonn Studio / Small Scale Approaches to Lowering Embodied Carbon
This talk explores how small-scale developments can contribute to carbon neutrality.
Often, small projects are overlooked, perceived as having little overall impact. This talk challenges that assumption, demonstrating how small changes can significantly affect the overall and lifecycle embodied carbon of a project through a fabric-first approach.

Tim graduated from Leeds University with Distinction and went to work for an award winning UK practice specialising in refurbishment, workspace and education building. For a short period, Tim was one the youngest qualified architects in the UK and was quickly promoted to Associate at the age of 26. Tim has designed and led multiple award-winning projects with a speciality in high quality refurbishment and expertise in combining creativity and practical craftsmanship. Tim founded Sonn in 2024 with Co-director Phoebe Laing.
